Hi all, I am currently using a Fender Strat SSS with a Roland Micro Cube, no pedals. I am a fan of Oasis and hoping to get closer to the Noel Gallagher kind of sound, if not possible, at least a sound close to British Rock and Blues.
I was thinking maybe changing the Bridge to a Humbucker as the current Single Coil can't really handle full chords with distortion well while playing rhythm. Is this a wise change? I do know that changing the amp or the guitar altogether would bring me closer, but I really like my current Strat as its shape and weight is very 'friendly', while being versatile for a beginner to learn many types of songs. And the Roland Micro Cube is really a nice practice amp, I love the 'Vox' model, for its mellow, wet single-note sound on the neck, and laid-back, warm, not too chunky rhythm tone for the Bridge.
I have shortlisted a few Humbuckers, mainly lower output, mostly treble and balanced oriented ones.
1. DiMarzio PAF Pro
2. DiMarzio FRED
3. Tesla VR-3
Sometimes I wish I had bought a Semi-Hollow like the Dot :???:, but I really like my current Strat too
.
Do you guys have any other suggestions?
