noob amp question..

i juz bought a roland cube 20x a while ago..i notice whenever i play two strings together (usually the e and b strings) and let both notes ring out, theres this weird feedback-like noise coming from the amp. the noise is not really a hum, kind of hard to describe, but it changes when different notes a played together.kind of like a talkbox or something .this does not happen when the notes are played separately but only when two notes are played together. this only occurs on the lead channel and the noise gets more obvious as gain and tone increases.

Is this normal? hw can i solve this problem and take away the noise.

its a booming, & it usually happens to sealed cabinets & to a certain frequency. Open the speakers & isulate. This helps reduce it..

do u like tune properly? coz when i tried some lower end ones with bad pickup and unproper tunings, when u play certain two notes simultaneously, it will give some weird sound zzz bzzz donoe what sound. not hum or whatever.

if this is right, tune properly and get better pickups or guitar.

yup its usually in drop d or standard tuning. usually happens in the e and b strings and dun really hav when i play power chords.

could someone explain to me the whole sealed cabinets and insulating thingy..i quite dumb when it comes to this king of thing.

oh ya..i oso notice that if it is the same note(as in 5 frets higher) the noise is gone.i feel i should mention this is on the amp distortion models not on pedals as i ,very very unfortunately,do not hav any

there are many types of cabs or combos, open backs r d ones u can see the speaker/s from behind. U could get feedbacks from this amps if U play indoor, like in a room. The Cube is a sealed type combo, which is what it is.. Sealed. No ports or hole whatsoever, so some frequency is feedbacking inside the box. That is what I call booming, earlier. This also happens to semi-hollow guitars.
What U could do 2 reduce this booming is, take out the speaker. ( the cube cab is glued together so no way U could take it apart without breaking it) & load it with insulation foam or fibre & re assemble the speaker.
This is a reversable process that does not harm the amp, unless ur so high that u accidently put ur kids brother's hamsters litter in, together with its tenant.
Anyway, have fun experimenting..:D
