I just signed up hence I'm new to this forum. I hope to learn from all of you experts here
Well, I know this question must have been asked a zillion times, but I need some help here with my bass compressor.
I recently acquired a Xotic SP compressor and I love how it works! The only problem I have is that whenever I switch it on, it makes a loud hissing sound. This problem only occurs when I switch to my neck/bridge pickup. It's almost silent when the pick up selector switch is at a neutral position. I am not running any other pedals at the moment.
It probably is important to mention that I am using a 9V battery for my compressor. Will switching to a One Spot or any other power supply help with the noise? I have also tried shielding my bass already and replaced a few pots but the noise is still there.
I am using a 5 string Yamaha with Aguilar picks ups and a OBP-1 pre amp. I hope I can get some advice here, thank you very much!
