..
it may seem easy..
ive been jamming with a band made up of people who have been playing in the night scene for a long, long time..we've been jamming for 6 months..
and our repetoire have been stretching to about 70 songs already..
we cover from muse to bad company ..even songs we hate..
cuz our main mission is to entertain crowds..
but the thing is,till now, we havent get a permanent place..
we only play occasionally at a private club off adam road only..
that is also bcuz we won the battle of the bands there..
thats all..
one thing i think u have to note if u wanna start playing is, u must have a very, very wide personal repetoire( to entertain impromptu requests)..and u must have lotsa of contacts too..
cuz u know why, people like from Chinaone(clarke quay) only bring in their friends to work there..how bias..so before u start to think about work, think about contacts..
and when u start working, take note that ur work is always on the line..
for example, lets say ur band's income for one night is about 500..some foreign bands from other countries who can play more songs, can easily cut ur way thru by offering the pub ur playing at a lower budget..im sure pubs wont wanna fork out so much money for bands..
in other words, u can be earning big tonight, but u can be easily terminated the next night..there goes ur job..
