Newbie Questions on Semi Acoustic Guitars

i have been learning how to play acoustic guitar for about 6 months now.

my questions are:
i love the sound of Epiphone Dot because my favorite genre of music is jazz (i know i still have a long way to go before i can start learning how to play jazz). so i would like to ask the pros here, can i practice acoustic lessons or songs on the Epiphone Dot?

will it be different from an acoustic guitar?

will it sound bad in comparison with an acoustic guitar?

i'm currently using a Takamine ED-21C BL but the fretboard are so small, it's very uncomfortable to play with.
thank you for any replies.

Can you learn acoustic stuff on semis? Yes you can, they are both guitars.

Does a semi sound comparable to an electro-acoustic? No, magnetic pickups vs piezo/under-saddle pickups, that's the main difference.

On a personal note, if you are into the jazzy stuff, just get on with a hollow body model so you get best of both worlds- acoustics from a very acoustic body type (no solid center block unlike the Epi DOT you mentioned) & the sensitivity from magnetic pickups. I urge you to switch to an amplified set-up for a good supplement to your learning. The ES-175 would be a good start:
