Hi guys, I know probably my posts are scattered everywhere but heck. Since i found this section, might as well, i post my songs here.

My songs are uploaded on my reverbnation.com profile.

Currently uploaded:

Leaving Me Behind
I'm Wrong
Never Gonna Go Back

Coming up soon:
I Wanna Be Loved
Nobody's Here

My genre is mostly a mix of blues and country. Leaving me behind is kinda rockish i guess.

Hope to see comments!

*Edit: Ok maybe not every week. Depends if i get it done. My computer just crashed and the HD got wiped. So all my recordings are gone. Sigh... Oh well.

Hey guys. I've just uploaded a new song. Its not the best that i've done cos i was feeling rather emo and down cos i think i've got fucked over by a girl. Yeah and that song was inspired by her. Together with 5 other songs. ><

Anyway, i hope you guys leave comments on the webpage or this thread. Thanks

Hey! Popped by here and saw you lol. Figured you'd post the songs here.

I love your tone. It's polished and sweet, suits the mood of the songs and it's honest :) Lovely voice, doesn't sound like a local voice might I add. and soothing bittersweet music songwriting. I like how natural and feel-y everything sounds. Are you doing up a demo? You've got good stuff there..

Anyway, hope you're doing okay with your whole emo feeling thingy. Enjoy the new year lah, sucky time to mope around what's with the hols and stuff.

>< Thanks for the compliments

I've been thinking to do up a good demo but i have absolutely no idea where to start.

Well, the emo feeling thingy has a reason. Leaving me behind basically sums it up along with Old Christmas Tree. I'm praying to meet someone and maybe i'll make a few songs on finding sweet love. ><

Well, during my jc days i got a mate of mine to setup a radio station in school and so they sent us to a 3 week dj course at the radio academy. Apparently it was a favor cos one of the teachers knew a dj. we went through pronunciation lesson and other voice related stuff. You might have guessed at jc, we had tons of angmohs and i was kinda popular with the chicks >< playing WoW also helps with all the angmoh players. So its not much of a secret. ><

But i have a question. What my genre? lol. I have no idea.

well if you're honestly asking, i'd throw you into the singer-songwriter acoustic folk/blues genre. :)

Ah... Thanks mate. Clearer to me now.

Anyway, my HDD crashed. Sigh... I've actually had a few pre-recorded stuff. But oh well, I'll be back recording in March once i get my new computer. ><

In the meantime, i'll stay with this forum. =)

nice stuff! hints of jack johnson in a few of the songs...i love it...but download disabled..:( i want the songs on my mp3, so churn out a ep! all the best..cheers:)

Well at first, i was paranoid that someone would steal my music if i made it downloadable but after learning something from this forum, i guess it'd be better marketing huh?

I'll try to make them downloadable. =)

P.S.

I love Jack Johnson. Big time. XD

The Christmas song is the best one there - very likeable including the lyrics.

But it can still be improved with some tweaking of the lyrics to make it more cerebral and not soo straight forward. There are nice parts but there are also cliched elements in there.

The other songs don't do this one justice. The singing on the other songs are also quite poorly done. You need to concentrate more on your singing as you sing. It seems like either you lose concentration or you can't hold on to the notes and your volume and enunciation fails, often. And if you can't solo, then keep it simple or work on it some more.

Listne to violin soloists or even trumpeters, sax an other solo players to get a better range of what's available out there in terms of soloing and then use your guitar. At the end of the day, it's emotions that you are sharing/giving, it doesn't matter which instrument you use.

Promising things in there but also lots of work. I would rather go for quality than quantity.

Good luck!

Yup. Actually, i record each sound individually i.e. guitar & vocal. Thanks. I'll try and concentrate more on the singing thanks.

Actually, i think the Xmas song was the better one amongst the rest because i was really going through that feeling.

Yeah the guitar solo was really a noob one i must admit. But i think i'm gonna drop that and concentrate on my singing instead.

1. What enunciation btw?
2. And in what ways can i improve my singing? ><

I truly appreciate your really constructive comment.

hey sweetie

You could try a couple, based on how i hear it:
1- mouth movements; don't keep your muscles around your mouth tense, relax and open them a bit more when you sing higher or at more projectively expansive parts
2 - maintain your notes, especially at the end of your lines, don't slack them off
3 - eccentuate the notes that are short and detached with more vowel sounds
4 - slurs and note liftings, make them more obvious.. if you want to lift the melody, lift the notes at your own pace more clearly so that the lifts are more distinguished

i think if you eccentuate the vowel sounds more, it could have a major impact on the singing, you might want to try that first? then maintain the notes k? don't let them die off too much, altho i know it seems to be your style, but just a notch bit supported would do the trick.

ps hey rork!
