Newbie here.

Hello guys. I stumbled across this site a few days back and I have a couple of questions.

Firstly, I am new to the guitar and i plan to self-learn it. However, I have no prior music education. What is a good way to start?

Secondly, I plan to play the electric guitar, is playing the acoustic guitar any different from an electric? I plan to start with an acoustic, I would like to know what the transition will be like.

Thirdly, what is a good guitar package to start off with? Budget should probably be around 500.

1) i'm a self learner of guitar myself, however, it is best to have a good foundation on playing guitar, hence it's good to learn from a pro. but if you feel you want to learn at your own rate, self learning is ok.

2) i started electric months ago. the only transition from acoustic to electric is to get used into playing while standing, since the acoustic was always played seated. with an elec, you have to get used to the weight on your shoulders, the height of your guitar to suit your playability, picking/strumming action, etc.

3) sub reviewed the SX elec guitar here and he said it was the best starter pack compared to the ones by squier, epiphone and ibanez. not to mention, cheap for its quality.
