new stuff from metallica.

Well...the first 'new stuff' I heard from them.

Riffs - tight...good
Rhythm - tighter...good
solo - Thank the devil there's a solo...good
Vocal/verse - Sounds like Load/Reload...not too good.
Chorus- Sounds like St Anger stuff...bad...
Back to listening 6 min Metallica songs - good
Metallica needs a new drummer who don't look tired - I think so
Rick Rubin as producer - We are saved!

but damn! metallica is still metallica despite whatever happens.. :twisted:
 
i find it funny at the beginning when trujillo's bass is obviously in the wrong key and there is actually a dissonant sound (that i thought might have been intentional)

and it's funny how they dealt with it! funny, personal and professional.
 
wasnt really impressed with this song. But never the less, its still ok.

I dont know about you guys, but i think they are trying to sound 'up-to-date/modern'. IMO, they should stick to their traditional sound, the one which made them big (something like ride the lightning and black album). Some of you might say that if metallica stays 'traditional', their new songs will get boring after some time cause its the same. Im not referring to be totally 'traditional', im saying that they should retain the 'traditional sound of themselves' and make new songs out of it. Well, thats what i think la.

The songs were ok, but rather forgetable.. It doesnt have as much impact as their 80s and early 90s performances.. Will they ever return to that kind of standards? I hope they do, and wanna see return to that..
 
Metallica can no longer write the stuff we all wanna hear cos they sought treatment from that bloody shrink. If you aren't angry about something, you can't write stuff in the thrash metal genre cos the feelings aren't genuine. That explains all the ambiguous stuff that they've been writing for such a long time. There doesn't seem to be anything that they believe in anymore...and James should seriously stop doing that 'whiny' vocals shit...it sounds gay

It all started coming down after Load and Reload. Maybe cos they're so loaded with wealth they figured they can F around with their music however they like. I don't hate them for it...just don't like what I'm listening to. Seemingly went from Metallica to Fagtallica

maybe they are just old for thrash metal. i agree with Special_K, no longer the angry metallica that they used to be. AIYA!! why metallica?!?!!?
