New amp with effects or Multi effects pedal

Hey guys!

I've recently been interested in trying out effects for my electric. Right now I'm got a Smarvo 15W amp that only has 'Gain'...

So I'm thinking should I get a multi effects pedal or a new amp with effects?
Please advice!

If its the amp I've got the Roland cube 15 and Line Spider 15 in mind..

Whereas for the multi effects pedal I have absolutely no idea. Anyone can recommend any? My budget's around 100 and below or slightly above 100. Is it possible also to list down the pedal models so I can trawl the Buy/sell forum for them..

Many thanks...

hmmm, next question you'll probably need to know is whether your gonna play it just at home or bring it to studios to jam etc.

my suggestion, which might not be the best, is to get a simple multi effect. i think the new zoom G1 one is not too bad. can try it out at the shops. i THINK its around ur budget.

cheers

Ah cool! I googled it and it seems to have quite a number of effects to play around with... Now the question is.. Where can I get this? And.. Price wise..?

you can get it new at citymusic, i think they cost around a 100.You might wanna call them first before heading down.

But as general question I am interested in your opinion about amp efx vs multi-efx even with much higher budget (for example vetta vs digitech rp500).
No need to tell that stomp boxes are superior ;-)

i own the line 6 spider III.. Great amp with effects.. quote me an unresistable price, mebi i'll let go.. hehe

Some stomp boxes can make a small 10-watt amplifier sound like a full-stack with the right E.Q. settings.

If I were you, I won't rely on amp effects. analog/muti-effects are way better. plus you can bring it along if you ever decide to play at your friend house or even perform =)

i personally own a roland cube 30x, i'm in loved with it, it has been liek 4months already and this amp still impress me and i got new tones from it everything i want to play a different genre.

But i got no idea why, after getting the cube, i still yearns for pedals sometimes.
So its up to you actually.

The cube itself its good enough IMO. But if youy want fun things and some foot actions, muti effect is better for you if your amp's clean tone is sweet.
