i was just fiddling around with one of my old computer speaker sets. it had been working fine for many years and volume was never pushed beyond 50%.
i think i have have managed to isolate the problem to the amplified signal. this is a two double input speaker. when i plug in my headphones into the headphone jack, even the left side is softer than the right. this goes for both inputs. so most prob, the outgoing signal from the internal amplifier is screwed.
anyone knows how i can remedy this? is it a blown fuse somewhere?
