hi im looking for compressors/limiters for FOH..anyone can help me in which compressors or limiter to get..budget can be high..but it must help me in FOH main..thats all..yeah..pls post your ideas and let me know what is good for it..thanks alot..

I second that. Others include offerings from MXR, dynacomp and supercomp and more ex would be Keeley compressor and Analogman Comprosser.

If u like an extra od pedal thrown in, then the route66 is a value for money buy.

I think he's talking about rackmounted stuff for FOH engineers... but I could be wrong :|

(Especially since this is in the sound engineering forum ;) )

okie..thanks man..but then DBX 166 cant find already lah..are u selling it? hahaha..might get it leh..
any other brands?

Bro,

If you don't already have a Speaker Processor, you may consider these:
(1) dbx DriveRack Pro: I always use the dbx 480 with 480R
(2) BSS Range: Another BIG name in Installed Sound Processing
(3) Peavey DigiTool MX: Very affordable speaker processor
(4) XTA: these guys are getting very popular nowadays

If you are just looking for a hardware compressor, you may consider:
(1) dbx 166XL or the dbx 266XL: both are Industry Standard Workhorses. If you really want to buy these, PM me. The dbx 160VU and 160A are CLASSICS that was already discon'd a ling time ago but still being used by many Engineers
(2) Klark Teknik DN500plus: another popoular choice in LIVE applications
(3) SMART Research C2: this one sounds great!
(4) BSS DPR Series: Another BIG name in Sound Processing
(5) Universal Audio LA-2A OR LA-3A: Legends reborn although I have seldom heard of these being used LIVE...more for studio recording works, though
(6) Summit Audio DCL200 or TL Audio C1: bringing Studio quality to the LIVE arena
(7) Alesis 3630 OR Samson S-Com PLUS: affordable and straightforward compressors

...just my 2 cents worth, hope this helps...

Thankx

I recomend dbx 260 which is more cheaper. If more budget go for Rane product or BSS-london blu16..a better choice ever i seem in sound industry. Depend on where u going to use, pub, concert, church, schools???
