Need personal review

Hi there,
just found this forum today. Never knew Singapore have its own music forum.

Btw I need some reviews from you bros & sis. I just started to learn guitar a week ago.

I was searching on stuff to learn on the internet and find that most of the free lessons are in a mess, there are parts here and there. You really need to know what you are looking for. And even if you find it, it might be crap.

So I am thinking of getting a proper online lesson. Came up with 2 products.
1st is "Learn and Master Guitar".
2nd is "Jamorama".

Both have top feedback from most 3rd party reviews that I check. However I still want to know the feedback from this forum.

So if any of you have tried any of these 2 products please give me your feedback.

Thanks

I also saw the recommendation for Jamorama and signed up for their trail lessons. It sucks -- absolutely useless.

Try the free lessons before you lay out cash. I found a good instructor who advertised on this forum.

Hi swling,
thanks for the feedback. Maybe your standard is higher than the free demo lesson, thats why you feel it sucks.

But not long after I post the thread, I bought the Jamorama kit, together with the Jamorama lead (ard SGD81 total).

Already completed lesson 3 of Jamorama Beginner Book not long ago. I find that its quite fun actually. After every lesson there is a jam track(related to the lesson) that you can play along with. Help to practice what you learn on that lesson and make things fun.

And I think the ear training will be quite useful too. Not sure of the sight reading software since I have not try it yet (mayb give it a go later).

The metronome on the other hand is crap. I'll rather use my own metranome.

Thanks.

Can I recommend you Mr John from East Hampton?

He was my online guitar teacher, that's how I got started with my acoustic before I moved on to Classical and Electric. But strumming patterns and basic scales, I learnt it from the link above.

Try, be patient and look through the whole lesson. There's a lot you can learn.
