I recently got a Fender SSS Start and i really like it.
Only problem is,I'm kinda used to my les paul.
I need help cause I don't know what single coil pups to use.
or what pedal to use.
I'm looking for the tone and sound like A7X.
Peferably something heavy and chunk...
which is hard to get from single coils.
Guys, help me out here, still noob at finding correct tone and sounds.
I'm thinking of changing the pickups and getting a distortion pedal.
Any suggestions?

*what amp are you using? If your amp's distortion is not strong enough...
U can invest on a distortion pedal.
If u like humbucker, u can change the single coil to those humbucker but in single coil size. Like Seymour Duncan Hotrails for example

i think get a good pedal will do,like the digitech hardwire metal distortion..damn shiok...because, imo i feel that no matter what pickups you use, you can get most,if not all of the sound you want, and mostly through the amp and/or pedals..just look at john 5,the ex lead guitarist of marilyn manson, he has a twisted tele pick up in his neck position, a true single coil, but his sound is still awesome..

I think if you want fat, heavy-sounding distortion with plenty of Chugga-chugga, go the humbucker route. There are singlecoil-sized humbuckers that you can put into your Strat's bridge position. You can even put one in the neck as well, then your Strat will become like those HSH Ibanez RGs. No need for routing.

I've managed to get heavy rock tones with my high-output singlecoils, but I haven't managed to get good solid chugging metal tone, so I'd recommend humbuckers if you want a solid metal tone. Humbuckers are also a whole lot quieter than singlecoils especially with high-gain distortion.

Currently using a marshall mg 10 kk...
But i don't practise at home much...
The amps i use are whatever the jamming studio provides...
