Hey Guys,

A newbie here and I really need some help.

I have a Line 6 spider 4 15watts guitar amp and a Zoom G2.1u multi effect pedal.
The problem is that when i plug the multi effect to the amp and play, i cant get the right sound from the amp which really matches the sound settings from my multi effect pedal.
I try adjusting the settings on my amp to produce the actual sound which my multi effect process, but it still sounds different. When i plug my multi effect pedal to my earphones or normal speakers, it sounds better but very different to when i plug my multi effect pedal to my spider amp.

Can someone help me or give some suggestions to the settings my line 6 spider amp should be when its is being used with an external multi effect pedal.

:)
thanks a lot.

Multi-effects are designed to be plugged directly into a mixer and PA system, so they usually would sound better through the PA system than through an amplifier. That explains the degraded tone when going through an amplifier... Do what I do. Adjust the E.Q. until you get the best tone you can get, and make do. I've gotten some good results with my Line 6 Floor POD.

so you mean that you want:

amp sound = mfx sound?

or

mfx with amp sound = mfx with earphone sound?

hi,
i meant, i want the sound that my amp produces to be similar to the sound settings on my multi effect... hehe, confusing huh...

Spider

Hey there. hmm. Spider amp is a modelling amp mainly so itself is already tryin to produce sounds of others. Its not very good for doing what you want though, but still u can get very good sounds with the right settings. try adjusting it without reverb 1st. play around with the eq. really helps

so i guess its the first one. one thing to note, of course different products produce different sounds. modelling can only do so much. if the line 6 can model a mesa or marshall, why do people still buy them? no two products can can sound dead-on same. maybe there are, but they are usually from the same brand or series at least. or use the exact same components. this time, its a line 6 amp and a zoom mfx. doubtful.

hey bro i have a Spider IV 15 too...hmm i can offer a solution.

for my amp whenever im in clean the flange/chorus and echo would automatically come on to i have to kinda " clockwise, anticlockwise" the knobs to restore it to a purely clean sound.

maybe the auto switching on of the onboard effects is the prob, hope i have helped. :))
