need help on selection of guitar

i have a budget of around 700 for an elec. guitar. anyone could give some suggestions? more into fenders, but i don't think my budget is cut out for it.

ok so ure into fenders but then theres still the hurdle of which guitar style u prefer? pls clarify on strat type or tele type den we can help u out.

squiers...im not quite sure about them.... gives me an impression of cheap-low quality material... haha... sorry if i offended anyone... just an opinon... Coz i haven really tried one YET....

a squier guitar might do since you're on a low budget. they're a subsidary of fender, and offer pretty good quality at affordable prices.

plus, you get two brandnames on one guitar. fender and squier. :lol:

get a Japanese Fender Strat 2nd hand..should be able to find models around 500-600 bucks..

drat. namle caught me here again.

try an ibanez then.. they ain't bad. they combine humbuckers and single coils give you some tonal variety, but you have to look at their specific models to be satisfied.

anyway i agree with jem007 if you can get a 2nd hand strat around...as you said the genre you play it seems like ya looking for a versatile axe... strat it would be

besides you can consider those SA or AS series of ibanez which offers great versatility as well...
