Hi, I'm looking for some vintage tone for my Suzuki les paul. How about Seymour Ducan SH-1 59' , Alnico II pro , SH-55 Seth Lover and Classic cover Humbucker? Anyone using it and how do ya find it and how much it costs for those models? I would also like to put the pickup cover on it incase it doesn't come with it cos i don't like the bare look... Is it possible? Thanks! :D

For the pup covers, just make sure the pup cover is meant for that particular pup.

And anyway, pup covers will alter the tone of your pup a bit... taking off some treble. On the other hand, it provides better shielding for the pup.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, coz I'm from the Dimarzio camp...

Ah... well... I wouldn't say they are universal.

Even on the dimarzio camp, not all pups can have pup covers. The Breeds are recommended not to have covers but the Tonezones are available with covers.

I suggest you email Seymour Duncan up regarding this, they can advise you better..

Duncan's PAF type pickups like the 59 and Seth lover can have covers put on them without much problems. I think the seth only comes with covers right? Anyway you need to install the covers correctly, if not it might cause some microphonic problems. Potting is not absolutely necessary, although covered humbuckers are usually potted twice in wax.

Can I ask something about pickups?
Does the pickup wire conductor need to be considered when I wan to change a pickup? Cause SH-4 got 4 Wire Conductor, and 16.4K DC Resistance. Any of this need to be considered, or can it just fit into my samick sg? I need some help. What's the cost of changing a pickup at guitar connection(the one located near Davis, forgot what it's called).
