need help on guitars sound

erm until now i cant really hear much differents between different guitars, is there any songs that really bring one the "guitar" sound? like certain song bring out les paul sound, another song brings out basswood sound and so on? the only sound i can hear tat differs from others is traditional les paul bridge sound? and tele bridge sound?

and could someone tell me what kind of guitar get this sound?

here the video link, yeah thestrumming part of the explorer player. what kind of guitar body give that kind of sound? basswood? maghony? alder? and waht kind of outputs? heavy? looks like EMG, i find the strumming part sounds very nice

go to a guitar shop with lespauls n basswood strats..tell the owner u wana buy a lespaul n a strat.. try on both of them..when u hear the diff..tell the owner..i actually i hav both at home already.=))
