Need help on buying guitar effects... :)

Hello softies, new here. I need help on buying multi effects pedal. Can anyone recommend me one ? My budget is below $300. Best is less than $250

multi-efx would be good for starting out to see wad effects u want =)

$250? Get a Vox Tonelab ST! Great tone for home use! It's $260 at City Music.

You can even get a LE for less than 300 second-hand. I would say get a gain pedal and a delay pedal. Saves you the headache of figuring out some of the multi-efx units.

From experience, I find that multi-effects lose out to single pedals in terms of distortion tones, but this is still suggestive since everyone has different tastes (and I can't claim to have tried all multi-effects pedals on the market). But I've heard a Vox Tonelab before and it has more than decent distortion tones, so you might want to consider getting a Vox Tonelab. Sounds a lot better than those by Line 6 in my opinion.

If you get a multi-effects that has good effects but you dislike the distortion tones, you could run the multi-effects unit together with a distortion pedal or two. I've seen pedalboards done this way. A lot more convenient. Imagine having a pedalboard of 10+ pedals and needing to spend loads on patch cables, power supply adapters, etc.

I second the vox tonelab st but do try to source for a 2nd hand tonelab le over at the buy/sell forum if you can because it is more versatile during live use while the st is more compact and you can do direct recording to your computer. IMO, the tonelab le is in the same league as the podxt live but sounds more natural and easier to use plus for the price,it's more than worth it.

So that means if i get the multi efx pedal i can imitate tones of guitarist like slash, van halen etc?

I suggest u to get tonelab ST or LE.

Coz it come with a valve reactor and built in engine for warm sound.
U can choose difference kind of Amp & cabinet plus modulation that suit to your
music

As a professional guitar player I recommend U, always use tube effect.
