Hi,

i just started self-learning guitar for about a month now, but i think im lacking in direction.

i already learned the basic chords and play some songs, but is there a proper direction in learning guitar? like learning sequentially?

i feel i can roughly play, but i don't understand guitar at all. i don't only want to remember chords and practice throughout. i want to know more than that. like how the notes are formed or named etc.

can someone guide me?
thanks in advance!

i dont think i need a teacher coz i feel i can always learn on my own. but what i need would probably be a plan. any suggestion on how to approach it?

You mean how chords are formed? not notes. That would be physics alr. Well technically so are chords and a lot of the guitar but that's not the point. You should go learn some theory online, basic chord theory, know what each symbol of every chord means and the difference between them. Go learn some scales as well. The most basic ones are pentatonic and blues scale. Lots of rock guitar solos based on those.

get a theory book from a music school shop? (eg. christofori, yamaha, etc)

Yeah the WWW is a good tool, there're a couple of websites that can keep you going as long as you're disciplined enough.

One website that I find quite useful is justinguitar.com , covers quite abit of ground, probably from beginner till intermediate level.
