hi, i currently using a KKV BC Rich guitar with a hard tail. i wonder if i can change the bridge and install it with a tremolo bridge?
please help come forward and tell me whether if it is possible to do so.
may/ may not happen- depends on your guitar body dimensions.
if you are thinking of a uni-directional bridge like this:
it might be possible.
however for dual action floaters like this:
it requires a cavity to be dug out from the body. the nut must also accomodate a locking device to fully complement the floater. the thing with BC Rich's widow headstock is that, if it doesn't already feature a locking nut, it has to be placed on the headstock. the strings' machine head-nut break angle is too steep to cater to effective functionality.
Take note that if you get it changed to a heavy tremolo, you cannot use alternative tunings unless you get it set-up by a professional for that specific tuning, and heavy tremolos are much more complicated to re-string.
