Need advice: jamming studio

Hey guys, i was thinking of investing in a jamming studio.
I was wondering how much studios make nowadays, the costs of equipment (Thinking of more high end equipment....amps, drums, soundproofing, soundsystem. not including recording equipment), how much time it takes to make ROI.

The studio will probably be at Jurong east, near the mrt.
Many people say its a hard business to do and profits arnt that good.

Hope you guys can give me some advice.

Cheers,
Bonehead.

there's actually already a jamming studio at jurong.
why not try somewhere in the west that doesnt have one, like maybe say clementi/commonwealth/dover/holland that area?

yeah i agree, setting up ur jamming studio in that vicinity may jeopardise ur business and ur patrons.

i guess not all of us here knows exactly the details of starting a studio, since most of us are pretty much musicians.
Why not ask someone who's already in the biz?
Like approach people like Ahboy from Tnt studios(paradiz) or something haha.

You setted up studio jamming in Clementi, me love you long time.

Haha. Clementi is lacking in so many things. A proper bus interchange, a proper shopping mall, library and yes, jamming studios!

Confirm everyday I come down to jam if you set up in Clementi.

jamming not the high end one start up usually 40 50 k ok oreadi...30k fer equipments.. 20 k fer renovation n soundproof..carpet proof oni ar..rental get 1100 to 1700 oni..no nd be so big so long can fit 5 n equipments in a rm ok oreadi. keep at least 5k fer maintenance.

Bonehead, jurong east is a gd location. Its kinda central to me.
Some years back when Ah Chai is around, the studio is popular due to the location, coffee shop. One of my fav studio back then.

Give it a serious thought. However im not sure how you go about sustaining it.
You may need to provide other services as well like sell cds, guitar parts, repair etc..
Will certainly support you if you end up setting up the studio at jurong east ..:)

I believe west area does not have as many studios as the east. It'll be great if a studio is gonna setup here, especially near the train station or interchange. If a studio is located far far away and not easily accessible by public transport, then that's a turn off! ;)

However, central will be the most ideal, though it's gonna be expensive for owners. When you have band members from east, west, north and south, then central will be great! ahaha..

Dunno abt costing, but room space, equipment maintenance, air conditioning are important factors! Oh ya, if you intend to setup one, get good bass amps. Most studios provide good guitar amps/stacks, however the bass amps are rather disappointing.

Jurong east!!!

JURONG EAST MAN!!! TELL ME THE ADDRESS. I COMFIRM COME AND BE UR NO. 1 CUSTOMER!!! U also must make recording studio THEN ur business will be good. Look at Beats. Anw, one tips. Use good equipments. People look for equipments. =)) JURONG EAST, FTW!!!

Hmm. If you want to set up one in the West/North-West area, a central area without fighting stiff competition is Bukit Batok, and Bukit Timah. These two areas are relatively quiet, and there is little competition.

Bukit Timah would be a more central area, and there are plenty of places in Bukit Timah Plaza to rent as a studio. Its just a matter of how the rental is like.

i support u as well if u make at jurong east! make near the interchange then nice....the studio near imm like got only 1 bus go there and the 1 near chinese garden also got 1 bus....plus now can pon tuition already =D

im with live revolution.
bukit timah is pretty damn quiet. a loooooot of schools to get business from. sounds like a really good location to me. just make sure u maintain your good equipment. its tough stuff.
