Need advice from Gretsch users

I just gotten a new reissue Gretsch Duo Jet with Bigsby and Dynasonic PUs. Been playing with it for awhile and I felt there's something missing, I am not getting that tone I am expecting from a Duo jet with Dynasonic PUs. In fact I am more satisfied with my Tele to get closer to that Brian Setzer rockabilly sound.

I am considering changing the PUs to TV jones new T'armond to see if it makes a dfference.

I also dislike the vol pots, the change of vol is crazy, 9-10 has drastic changes and anything below 8 turns the tone muddy. Any suggestions on electronic upgrades?

Also the Synchro-Sonic bridge feels uncomfortable when palm muting, I am considering to switch to the Rocker Bar Guitar Bridge.

Anyone got opinions or more suggestions to improve the experience of playing a Gretsch?

OOH! Duo Jet! I have been dreaming to get one!!!!.

BTW, I have a Brian Setzer Nashville and a Country Classic I and the Rockability sound sure does varies a lot.
I believe the type of pick up does affect the sound... but have you tried adjusting the Pick Up Height?are the 2 pickups of the same height? I might be afraid that the dynasonics cannot be adjusted...let me know...or you can come to my house and we can do a one on one test run with my nashville???
