Need advice for mini-overhaul

Got an Epiphone Emperor ( similar to this: http://www.epiphone.com/default.asp?ProductID=9&CollectionID=1) that I'm intending to overhaul.

Planning to change the pickups and possibly the bridge as well as i'm looking into the possiblity of fitting a bigsby on to it in the near future.

For pickups, looking for one with more warmth and less bite/crunch for the neck and one that can provide drive and bite/crunch at the bridge but not too much that it sounds like a les paul instead of the hollow body that the guitar should sound like.

For the bridge, i'm clueless about how to change it.

Anyone got any advice, tips or recommendations for me?

Thanks!

This might sound stupid, but try lowering the front pickup and raising the back pickup. moving the pickup further away from the stings will reduce the output and make the sound "warmer", and raising the pickup closer to the strings will increase its output and give the sound more "crunch'. You can use the volume controls to balance out the difference in the volumes.

If you want to change the pickups than it will cost you a lot as all the wiring has to come out the f-holes (i've been there before and it's not pretty!).

You can try out this pickup adjustment for nothing and get a better feel of what is possible.

Hope it helps.

cheers,

Mark.
