My Interest Is music composition/vocal & instrumental techniques

And i have 2 things in mind, either to go NAFA(Nanyang Academy of Fine arts)
OR Lasalle

I've not went for any open houses yet....and i know little about the music fields they're strong at

So far this is what i've gathered...

So can anyone help me compare both colleges?

Which one excels better in Music:confused:

Come to Lasalle :)

tho im not from the Music faculty of Lasalle :/
taking Interior Design

Intakes are typically in August (theres also another intake in the first quarter if im not mistaken) for Lasalle, I remember having like a 9 month break from everything, it was unreal~ lol!

if you do get into Lasalle tho, Congrats!!

always go for courses tt can give a secure future. not just by interest, but also courses that you can really progress and have a career with it. hehe!

um yea i heard from some guy long ago that Lasalle is abit slack lol:mrgreen:

what....+_+ u mean the intakes are already long over? ??!?! T____T

i also want to find out

i disagree, people who say that always complain about the courses they end up in - how they regret it and all. and in the end, land in a deadpan job doing something they don't like to do. and end up unhappy.

i say if you really want to pursue music as a career, go for it. but music is much harder than you think it is. there is definitely a future in music, but you have to be good at what you do, if not those better than you will outshine you. i know a lot of people who study music just for thinking that it's fun and easier than the other courses and after 1 year they regret.

if you heart is in music, you'll excel in it. because in the end, music is not about the money, it's about the art. that's why artists are not suing p2p companies, because they don't care about piracy. it's the record companies doing it because of profit. real artists support piracy - in some sense. and real music lovers buy good music.

yeah i guess everything u said made sense to me.. it seems to me that you're quite a good critic :)

I like your answer, evident :). Music is definitely not easy, pretty stressful I have to say, I went through it and am still going through it, you have to have the passion to go through that, if not you'll end up quitting halfway, like most do. Good luck to Jameslo93, choose wisely :D

Thanks so much for the encouragement ;)
but i dont get it lol why would a true musician support piracy...

wait the intakes for 2010 is on 2010's august ?

Well thats so long....

Think LASALLE music offers composition as one of the streams. I would think LASALLE and NAFA music courses are different. Think LASALLE more contemporary, not so traditional. So depends on the genre of music you prefer.

nafa and lasalle is now semi governmented school. So ir ur local, course fees cheaper after deduction of subsidies.

Im from nafa btw..
