I have difficulty playing on my guitar for more than 10 minutes because my right forearm gets quite uncomfortable resting on the edge of the guitar body. The armrest is the solution to my problem. I have purchased many armrest to test out which is best for me. After purchasing more than 10 different armrests, I find that none really suit me. It is either too bulky, or too tiny. It will not fit nicely on my guitars.
My only solution is to make it to fit my taste and guitar. I came up with the idea of using a 2mm thick Indian rosewood headplate.
This is my latest design. It was made from a piece of 2mm thick Indian Rosewood headplate. After some cutting, shaping, gluing, filing, shaping, sanding and many layers of “Nitro”, the finish product.
The armrest mounted on my BRW guitar with blu tack. Matching the colour of the Indian rosewood armrest to the BRW sides was tougher than I had anticipated.
This is what I use to mount the armrest to the guitar.
Now, even after 1 hour playing my guitar, my forearm is still feeling very comfortable.
