yo, can ya guys pls help me rate our performance?

this was some inter college competition and mellapong and i represented our sch with some other buddies...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXGDvYyXvIs

the whole thing's filmed by a phone cam so its quality ain't that high. and for the most part its fixed on my drummer cuz its his friend who filmed it... :P

but do listen to the song anyway and pls tell me how we can improve! thx

ps: i screwed the last solo... too carried away... haha

the solo was ok, not bad but i cant really hear much from the vid quality....cos the quality was pretty bad cant make out much....but still...ur band sounds pretty good....was it ur own original stuff?

well if u want criticism, den work on ur dynamics, i would say. every band needs to work on that and develop chemistry between members.

Hope that helps.

vocals can be better, notes seem to be flying all over the place..besides the drums, i can't really hear the rest so i'm rating the vocals only.

not too bad, but there's definitely room for improvement.

:)

The vocals need to be more stable.. like what above said, its flying all over the place. Especially the part where everyone claps... these period is important that brings up the hype.. Vocal need to buck up.

"ooooOOoOooOOOOOH~~"

Still, great stuff! Wish my school got such bands also..

heyy its i believe in a thing called love. the darkness. haha. great song. vocal wise i tink its abit hard to pull off. bt i tink u guys were nt bad.

thx for the feedback

any advice on how to make sure every1 keeps the same tempo? who should follow who?

usually we follow the drums but what else shold we do to sound tighter?

there are many factors to sounding tight.

no loose or stray notes from the guitar esp with distortion on.

vocalist must know her/his parts well enough so much so tt she shouldn't have to 'refer' to the other musicians on stage.

won't know how to comment on bass or drum playing.

imo follow the drums, there's a reason why it's called the rhythm section in the orchestra.

oh, and probably the most overlooked things on stage:

u must be able to hear each other!

try monitors or facing amps in strategic directions if there are no monitors available.

hope this helps :)
