Just to clarify, i checked with Tiger Airways just last December and they told me that they will only accept acoustic guitars with a gig bag on board. Solid bodies are not allowed because they cannot see what's inside. And for hard cases, you have to check it in.

Anyone flew with a e-guitar with Tiger Airways before?

so SIA doesnt allow guitars on board? that sucks... any idea if they will allow cymbals on board or do i have to check that in as well?

I flew with SIA, website says it doesnt allow, ground crew didnt allow, but once I got on board with the guitar, flight crew said ok no problem

All the hassle came from the ground crew, officially you're not allowed to bring on board but I guess they allowed me for exception. They didnt even realize I was carrying a huge guitar on my back until I mentioned it lol

i think cymbals u might need to checked them in, good if u can email them and ask for confirmation and than share with your fellow drummers.

I once brought a Laney LC15R back from hk via jet star. I didn't check in, just hand carried the amp all the way back, along with 3 boxes of krispy kremes.

Basically I checked in my luggage, and I had my les paul in a softcase on my back. she didnt say anything and when I told her I'm bringing a guitar on board she looked up and was kinda surprised to see a guitar on my back lol. Had she noticed if I remained quiet? after a little arguing she said I'll put a comment on your boarding pass. at the gate NO ONE approached me saying "why do you still have that guitar? all instruments should be checked in!" Instead they went on as usual and when the boarding pass was scanned, an alert on the computer showed I'm bringing a guitar on board. THEN they tell me I cant bring it on board. I mean the guy needed to be reminded by a computer saying that I'm bringing a guitar on board to tell me that I can't when I'm standing RIGHT THERE with a frigging guitar on my back! then after some more arguing he said ok, I'll talk to the air crew. It must have been a short conversation because I was greeted nicely in the plane and the guitar was instantly taken to the closet. For such a big hassle that guitars not being allowed as carry on, how come they all seemed to forget until reminded by me or the computer?
