Hi there,

In addition to the above questions... I would like to ask the following as well.

1. Must songs be original or will covers do?
2. How long does each band have?

Also, are they more details to the gig (e.g. time)? Thanks.

Kenneth

Well, all genres are welcome...

The idea for the Music Fest and this invitation to all talented musicians is to provide you guys with a platform. We feel that there are alot of talented acts who deserve to be heard, so we've provided the sound, stage, lighting and the event to showcase your talents and hopefully get picked up by some serious industry players, from Singapore and the region.

Hi Chris,

more questions since you did not answer Coxon's questions:

1. Are you paying the bands?
2. How long does each band play for?
3. Who's the audience? Do they watch for free?
4. Who are the industry people? Name names.
5. When is this going to be held? Can you provide a tentative agenda, e.g. start time, end time?
6. What if the band has a strong visual/lighting element to their performance? Can you provide the necessary equipment to faciliate that?
7. Who choooses the bands for performance? On what criteria?

Thanks dude.

Hi Chris,

what's the difference between this event and rock dfort, also part ot the popagenda thingy? they are also having a platform for bands to perform and I heard they pay the bands

Hi,

Basically Pop Village and Rock D'Fort is under the same umbrella, The Singapore Arts Festival. I'm not quite sure about the arrangement between the organisers of Fock D'Fort and NAC but for Pop Village, we're just producing Pop Village for NAC. Nevertheless, I'll bring this matter up to NAC and will keep you posted on the outcome. Our main focus here is to help those who deserve to be heard, provide a platform and hopefully get spotted and picked up.

Cheers
Chris

Is POP VILLAGE organised by M & M, music and movement???? the above address is links to M & M but I thought M & M is also invloved in organising Rock D'fort too?

i was just wondering upon seeing some comments here... bands get no renumeration, audience has to pay $25-40 for day passes...do the sound, light and technical team and serious industry players etc also do it pro bono? I heard that for these kinda events, sound, light & staging alone cost a small bomb...?

anyways ya'all have a good gig ya 8)
