Multi Effects Pedals vs Modded Amps

Hey,guys,just wanna get some general opinions and advice.
Is it better to get your effects from a multi effects unit(eg.KORG AX3000G) or a modded amps(eg.Line 6 Spider IV/Roland Cube 30X)?
And,I think modded amps,don't have that much effects to play around with right?Apart from the basic tremolo,flanger,reverb all that.

do u jam or gig? if u do, u will want ur tone to be portable. then go for the mfx.

still if im a strict bedroom guitarist, i'll get the mfx. more flexibilitity in terms of tweaking n choosing efx. change efx also can just stompstomp
