ModFactor & VL PP2+

Recently acquired a ModFactor and I'm thinking how I can power it with my PP2+. Been reading a lot on other forums that the ModFactor will, over extended periods of use, burn out the PP2+ because of the amount of power it draws.

Have seen some other recommendations elsewhere about using the AUX AC power outlet on the PP2+ for this. But my version of the PP2+ is an IEC outlet for this. Anybody played around with this before?

Appreciate the help!

What you are looking for is called the current doubler cable, basically a y-cable plugged into outlet 5 & 6, dip switch turned ON for both. What it's doing is coupling the current output with the cables running in parallel from both outlets to a total of 500mA. Plenty to power Eventide Stompboxes.

If you buy it straight off http://www.voodoolab.com/shop/index.php?cPath=22_24_33&osCsid=2bqho90fcdsn0iq1dummubt1j0 - you're looking for a PPAP Cable. It was US$6 when I got it to power my Timefactor.

Cheers.

Thanks skipper53 for the reply.

Problem is, I have a Trex replica as well that will need to draw on either of those outlets. So I'm looking for how I can accommodate both on the PP2+

Ah, then if you have the power adapter for either, just gotta stick with that. Or consider updating to a Cioks unit. Hah I've had to hold back buying many pedals since my TF started taking up both 5 & 6 on my pp2+

Thanks! Which Cioks unit should I consider? Cos I'm thinking of changing my pedal board so it might be a good idea to just change it all together.

use a daisy chain. plug 2 of it to the PP2+ on two slots with the SAME VOLTAGE output. then plug one into the time factor. the rest of the daisy chain is pretty much useless, so just tie them up or snip them off (:

this uses 2 powerslots on ur PP2+ to provide the total sum of mA with the same amount of voltage into the modfactor.
