If you want something that can "interface" your cubase, I supposed you are refering to controling the software itself am I right? If that's the case, you will need a control surface, and not a mixer.

It's able to control ProTools m-powered, Cubase, Nuendo, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Digital Performer, and Sonar. Although it's not stated, I've tried it before and realised that it's able to control PropellerHead Reason, Samplitude, and Sony Sound Forge, etc.
Overall, it's very similar to Digidesign 003. Only diff is that 003 can only control Pro Tools LE, and not any other DAWs.
On the other extreme, Mackie Control Universal is merely a control surface with no Inputs/Outputs, no mic-pre of course, strictly a controller. It does controls Cubase as well.
