Microcube help!

Hi guys..need some help with recording...I have the roland microcube and I want to do recording..however..i cannot get the guitar input into my laptop...

I have a sony laptop with headphone and mic input and the microcube with rec out...

I also have the 1/4 to 1/8 connector...(basically the one which can fit my guitar cable into..and the pointed side is the standard headphone size one..)

any help? thanks

2 methods : mic up / D.I (direct line in/inject)

guitar > amp > mic > preamp > soundcard/daw/recorder.

you're lacking a preamp between the mic and the laptop.

however in D.I method

guitar > amp > 1/4jack cable + 1/8 adapter > mic into your laptop.

may sound fuzzy.
