One half of the critically-acclaimed but now-defunct Funkstorung, Michael Fakesch is revered for his sense of aural aesthetics, and for a career that has run parallel with that of design. From the beginning of his career as part of Funkstorung with Chris De Luca and in his solo releases, Fakesch formed a unique collaboration with The Designers Republic for award-winning videos (‘Grammy Winners’), album covers and logos. As a producer, Fakesch scored the first Boards of Canada remix, and has worked with diverse artists, from the Wu-Tang Clan to Bjork to Hexstatic. A mainstay on the progressive label K7 Records, Fakesch teamed up with Hamburg-based soul vocalist Taprikk Sweezee for his second solo album dos. In more recent times, Fakesch has done sound design for TV ads for Kia, Vodafone and BMW. In June this year, the Philips Carousel ad with sound design by Fakesch received a gold in The Cannes Lions Grand Prix.

About Cityscapes
Brilliantly crafted and designed by Belgian-born designer, Tom Merckx, the limited 100 audio journals, Cityscapes, showcases the musical finesse of 7 Singapore-based sound practitioners - sonicbrat, Randolf Arriola, mux, Eswandy Sarip, Kamal Lufti, Johnson Zhang and Mark Wong. More significantly, the audio journal features Michael Fakesch, in the form of a bonus sound piece, complete with rare insights and documentations of his creative approach towards sound design.
A portion of the profits from the sales of the journals will be given to the Singapore Association for the Visually Handicapped. The audio journals are available for pre-order on the Cityscapes website, www.cityscapes.sg, from 20th November 2009, Friday till its official launch of the Cityscapes audio journal at the City Hall Building on 26th November 2009, Thursday.

Perspektif is a creative practice adopting a cross media approach by working with a vast resource of creative partners and individuals which allows innovative mixing of media, styles and techniques. With a defined outlook exploring different media fields, from creative content development, media design, curatorial and events production, creative direction, publishing projects and related cultural based projects.
