Metal Shops near Guitar 77

there is a shop on the 3rd or 4th floor of penin hotel. dunno if its still there. it was run by Ayong of Stompin' Ground.

Clairvoyant is good, but pricey as stated. lots of good cd's. u can most probably find lots of ur "metal needs" there. there is a section for "guitarist music" too!

Roxy is best! the guys are the best "cd people" i've known. u might not find all ur needs. but u can order most of what u want. 99% u can get them specially ordered for u! any obsure bands/albums/cds they most probably can get for u. u know how where it is? its at the 3rd floor of the Exelsior hotel. turn right at the escalator.

i remembered now too! there is another small shop at the corner. they sell lots of toys/collectibles too. turn left after the Drum Resources Center. u can see from there. their colection is small. but they sell local/malaysian cds too.

since u r there, visit the drum shop too. the owner, Nigel is a great guy. u might most probably remember him if u used to visit Yamaha at Plaza Spore.

n claivoyant (expensive though...)
Expensive is what? Im used to paying 45+ in HMV

oh... then shldn't be too expensive for u... :D

think their price range is ard $30-$50, on average mostly ard $35...they got vcd/dvds too...better range than most other shops...

oh ya, think theres another in penin, dunno name n exact level(maybe 3 or 4 storey..), i've nv gone in b4 (cuz they're always closed when m there...argh)...so cant quote u their prices...

HMV is a ripppppper!!!!!!!

Hmm, penisula itself, clairvoyant basement, they got good collections, but pricey...but if u looking for thoes limited editions/1 peice kinda stuff, its worth it. Other than that, the ayong shop no more, last time used to be a studio+ got sell CD, now shyaitan ( impeity) took over the shop liao loh long ago..also a jam studio. he also got sell some Cds Lds...he got some pretty good Dvds last i went there...pretty cheap too.

Roxy is pretty gd, u can order any titles/bands u want...but i find it a lil pricey too.

Best place i would recommend is Queensway shopping cte, there a small shop (corner), their pricing is reasonable, even if u place order should be within the range of $25 or less. Unless its really one of thoes limited edit kind.

Another place wuld be the shop at fareast, for a moment i cant rem the name, its a very small shop, start with I or something haha cant rem...near HANS... the owner usually gives a lot of other freebies ( posters, ep) etc when u purchase CDs there haha...

Hope this helps :D

borders is a good place to get metal cds. in peninsula apart from clarvoiyant, you can go all the way up to the top level. to megatherion. it's a jamming studious that sells cds too. but if there really cds you cant find. you can go far east 3rd floor. this shop called inoki, it's at the back row of fareast near Han's.

That's Inoki.
Yeah you can find and order quite a lot of metal stuff there too.

I do metal cd (imports only, no point for those with local pressings) orders twice a month over the web for people. Can get them much cheaper than what local cd shops offer.

Seriously I don't understand why would anyone pay that much at HMV for a metal cd or even over $35 at any shop. It's ridiculous. I've written in to HMV before and the way that they do bulk orders, the cost per cd is incredibly cheap and this is seriously ripping off consumers in every sense of the word.

Although 'other' smaller scale shops do personal orders, they are also charging $5-15 more than what you can acheive yourself over internet orders.

I've never bought or ordered from a shop since. I'm a huge cd buyer myself, mostly of the metal variety, 2 orders a month, always about 5-10 cds for myself. I get a few ppl to buy as well, this way the cost of shipping is much lower. As an example, a DVD like Lamb of God's Killadelphia is S$21. Or a cd like Darkest Hour's Undoing Ruin is about S$26-29 (depending on the amount of ordering). I've also done up a mathematical system to calculate the ways of bringing down shipping costs from various online cd-shops to get the best deal possible (many considerations, one of which is orders above $400 will incur GST in Singapore).

So if any of you are interested to get a cd, you can contact me at woodstock94_saugerties@hotmail.com. I'm always ordering. In fact next order is end of next week (for God Forbid and Soulfly's releases and the In Flames and Machine Head DVDs).

Hey novocaine thats a gd idea, i do online ordering sometimes too ...

But at queensway u can actually get it $ 25 n below.

Blah: yep it is spelled as gramophone, my fren use to work ther, the stuff cheap but quite hard to get certain bands lah..

Nak: Yep, megatherion, the shop i mentioned earlier is megatherion loh. Its owned by 2 guys partnership one of them is the frontman/bassist of Local band Impeity.

and yea borders price is pretty ok too.
:)

Yep agree about the shop in queensway. I got myself The Haunted's Live Rounds in Tokyo double disc from there and it was at $35, that was cheap, cos it's a rare cd plus double disc

But you can't get everything from the shops, but you can acheive almost everything order from the web, even those from obscure labels. That's the utmost beauty of web-ordering.

But well if there're lower prices, that's the best thing. I'm always looking for the best bargains too!

my favourite place to buy CDs or order from is Inokii, To Megatherion is cool too, and Borders has some good stuff, pretty cheap as well.. around the range of $20-$30..

Check out Borders if you havent already.

I searched everywhere for my dying bride cd's in those metal shops but found nothing and my friend went to borders at orchard and found 6 of em. $26 each thats cheap considering they aren one of those big famous bands and their fan base is pretty small in singapore. so for a hard to find cd, thats cheap!
