For sale: a phenomenal H-S-H Gerard Melancon Classic Artist Black Limba.
I just ordered this from Gerard Melancon just two months back, and it was only completed on 9 January 2017. This guitar would be perfect for anyone who loves black limba as a tone wood. Gorgeous guitar, as can be seen from the photos below.
The specifications are as follows:
Black limba body with chambers;
Maple Neck, with satin finish;
Indian rosewood fretboard;
Stainless steel medium frets;
Nut width is 1 11/16;
Neck depth is 0.81 at the nut to 0.87 at the 12th fret;
Fretboard radius is 12";
Hardtail bridge;
Melancon Vintage PAF humbucker (low-output) in the neck;
Melancon Blues PAF humbucker in the bridge;
Melancon Blues Single Coil in the middle;
Melancon 'Studio Package' allows for a combination of many different tones, namely humbucker(s) in series, humbucker(s) in parallel, and split humbucker. There is also an addition of a push knob to add the bridge pickup to any combination.
Serial number 1873.
You could do jazz on this, in-between strat-like sounds, screaming rock riffs, etc.
It's a phenomenal guitar and plays incredibly effortlessly. I'm not in a hurry to sell but if anyone would desire a black limba custom boutique guitar without the wait time from the master that is Gerard Melancon, this is your chance. Melancon guitars are in the same league as Suhr, Tom Anderson, Grosh, etc. He is a one man shop and crafts all the parts by hand.
