Martin Strings; what is 92/8 phosphor bronze

Hi guys,

First up, anybody know where I can get Martin SP strings? There's the lifespan, fx that seem interesting.

Second up, what does 92/8 bring to tone? Or string life for that matter? As compared to a 80/20?

Thanks all!

80/20s are usually brighter in terms of tone and appearance, but they dull quite quickly as compare to the normal 85/15 phosphor bronze. i guess 92/8 is more mellow since there's more copper in it and doesn't tarnish as fast. haven't really tried it but from inference it should be the case.
