MAJOR Help for the Drum Machine/Pad!!! Which is better????????????

Hello.
I am a beat maker also a composer itself.

Last week ive got Logic Express 9.

Now i have a choice of buying a Akai Xr20 Drum machine or Akai Mpd 18 Midi controller Drum pad.

I dont know which one to get. Since i have got Logic Express9 and want to create some beats, i dun know which one to get....(I am more like Ne-yo Style of Music) R&B....

If you don't already know the difference between the two, XR20 has samples, loops and effects in it while the MPD18 is just a midi controller.

So the MPD18 will be close to useless if you don't have a sample/loop library on your computer.

Think long term, the MPD18 would cater for a software based route while the XR20 can work on it's own without a computer. The thing is, the samples/loops can't be expanded on the XR20(you're stuck with the sounds they gave you) while a software based sample/loop library on your computer is limitless in expandability. I'd go with the MPD18 any day.
