Just now i plug in my guitar and i got noise only... I bought 2 new cables but still no sound so i suspect its guitar and not the cable. I tried pluging into tuner but cant tune so i dun think is amp spoilt.

When i touch the cable metal parts, the noise grew alot softer and i can hear alittle of the guitar when i pick the string but noise is still very bad. Anyone knows the problem?

is your amp spoilt...

Last time I also have the same problem with you when I pluck in the electric guitar and play...after I changed a new amp, there is no problem.
I think the amp need to tune to a standard level, else it may cause lots of noise. Check the amp manual or the dealer for using the amp.

I'd have to agree with vheissu, lol...or else some wire wired to the jack (guitar) came off.

yeah last time i had that problem on stage... real embarrasing man, i was like, eh the amp spoil ah how come no sound? spent like 5 mins before my friend mentioned the volume knob

some of the cables have those buttons to so that you can change guitar and temporarily cut off the power.. i forgot to click the button so i was like panicking and "why no sound?"

but recently i tried this yellow cable with neutrik heads my bro brought back from g77 and it doesn't work when i plug in to my electric and amp.. the planet waves cable worked though. don't know :?

Hey guys thanks for the replies! I'm using Ibanez RG321MH with GT8 and Cube15.

My volume knob is up, and i can play my ipod thru the amp directly using the same input jack. However when my guitar is plugged into the amp i get lots of noise and almost no string sound. However when i touch the metal part of the cable, the noise reduces quite alot but still got noise but i can hear some string sound. I tried 4 different cables and they dun have the mute switch on them.
