Hello! 23 yr old female vocalist here looking to form a folky band. Think mumford and sons, dry the river etc kind. I can play strumming guitar, and simple picking, but also currently going for fingerpicking lessons. Hoping to have a band at the same time so I could learn faster. Haha. Hi there,
I'm primarily a blues guitar player but I'm learning mandolin and banjo, would love to put these into use in a band context. I haven't heard of those two bands you mentioned but I checked them out on youtube and it sounds interesting. I'm actually more into country, bluegrass and hillbilly stuff like that as well as Irish traditional tunes, but I imagine folk derives a lot of its influences from these genres.
