hello. i am a drummer and i am looking for easy songs to play with my just formed band, my guitarist is around 6 months old. he just started proper lessons. currently learning to read scores. and we are looking for songs we can jam together with. do you guys know any easy songs for the guiutar part? he is not to okay with finger picking yet. i mean "the reason" hoobastank is a prob for him . so i am looking for probably, power chords and etc.

tks for help.

what genre you are comfortable with?[/QUOTE]

i suppose, erm.. rock. slow rock. pop. no metal tks.
for example, the reason by hooba. such songs. you know

the reason got finger picking?im guessing the intro is it?if he is not comfortable with it try jamming songs with power chords instead.ie blink 182

I'm quite new myself. you could try Blink 182 songs, like 'Dammit' etc. most of the songs are made up of power chords. you could also try Greenday. :D

Seven Nation Army - the white stripes
Standy By Me - Oasis
Holiday - Green Day
Dirty Little Secrets - The all american rejects
Pieces - Sum41
Dammit - Blink 182

Most of the songs suggested here are too difficult e.g. most of them have tricky rhythms.

What about some country music? Lots of country songs consist of nothing more than open chords and basic strumming patterns (i.e. just quavers and crotchets; no ties, no semiquavers etc etc).

I have folders of pieces for each style of music (about 150 for each style e.g. 150 metal pieces, 150 indie pieces etc etc), and I generally end up teaching country songs to beginners, as it gives the student a huge pile of songs they can play all the way through.

Ask your guitarist about this, and if you do want to try a country song, then send me a message and i'll e-mail you a song through.

Kris

PS why doesn't he do some of the stuff his teacher is showing him just now? This is the first thing I would think of asking him.
