Orpheus Grief Recruitment
Hi all we are Orpheus Grief, a Gothic, symphonic metal band here in Singapore. Our influences range from Theatre of Tragedy to Epica, Nightwish, Voices of Destiny, Edenbridge and Niobeth. We are currently left with two members, Keita (singer) and me, Joel (Lead guitarist/backing vocals) as some of our members left due to other commitments. We are looking for a keyboardist, bassist and drummer.love
More about the band
We focus almost entirely on originals. Our writing style comprises from a wide range of writing styles, melodic to almost thrash metal kinda riffing. It is hard to express in words so our ideas will be shared upon auditioning. Keita is a lovesoprano two and is able to sing choir style and your normal singing style (Amy Lee ect). I am influenced by many guitarist from various genres such as Jari Maenpaa (Wintersun), Buckethead and Ritchie Kotzen just to name a few (because the list goes on). Lastly, this is a very cliche thing to say but we are extremely passionate about our music. That explains our decision to continue with the band despite setbacks with ex members leaving due to commitments elsewhere. Having said that we look for COMMITMENT FIRST and everything else second.love
Here is what we are looking for.
In general
1. Commitment (duh)
2. Basic level of musicality (you don't need to be a pro but at least have some sort of timing and the basic stuff)
3. Currently due to an extremely heckic work schdule which will last until the end of October, Jamming will be once a month on a Sunday in the central areas of Singapore)
4. Portfolio or past compositions, covers ect prior to joining so that we know who you are as a musician
5. Communication (Speak up if you don't like something and be open)
Keyboardist
1) knows keyboard effects well
2) able to compose songs or improvise (nothing fancy. Just the basics)
3) able to solo (I would love to write solos with you. Haha)
4) able to sing (optional)
Bassist
1) Good rhythm and able to fill in appropiately
Drummer
1) double pedal (duh)
2) blast beats (it will be good if you can)
3) timing (please, this is damn important)love
4) a beard (optional, hahaha!)
