Hello everyone
We are conceptualizing a music event with a social twang. It is called INTEGRATE : A Musical Exploration.
This is a light hearted, feel-good event of having local bands play with foreign/expatriate musicians.
In this fast paced society there is a huge lack of integration and our hope is to ease social tension via music and art. Most touring bands just play here and leave, and many not having time to understand the culture of the town they play at.
For every INTEGRATE show we hope to have at least 2 expat/foreign/PR acts (or bands that have individuals who are 'foreign') and 2 local openers.
We personally do not care if you're famous or not, we just hope to deal with straight up, honest and preferably non-rockstar types.
If this succeeds we believe there will be positive social ripple effects, if not well at least we tried!
We are looking at ONE Friday per month from the month of May 2014 onwards.
We'll start with a pilot event, if the response is amazing we'll go for May-June-July and after that who knows!
So bands/singers/performers who are interested in this please drop an email to casualconceptscoms@gmail.com All genres, styles welcome! This invite is beyond musicians. Dancers, magicians, comics...write in!!
As per GROOVY WEDNESDAYS and all other independent music events, this is based on very transparent crowd funding. The takings from the door will determine whether or not the performing acts are paid, and I believe all of us would love that option.
Otherwise the drinks are on us at least
