Hey all,
I sing with a small chamber group of about 8 - 10 people and we do mostly renaissance polyphony by composers such as William Byrd, Palestrina, Victoria etc... Sometimes we do medieval polyphony as well but much less.
We're looking for female altos, or male counter-tenors (range from G4 or A4 to C5) and sopranos to come join us. We're quite a casual group, so we don't require auditions of any kind, but once you come try and sing with us, you'll sorta get a feel of whether you'd fit in, and then can decide if you'd like to continue with us.
Because we do polyphony, being able to sight-sing is preferred. You don't have to be able to do it very well, but being able to read notes will help a huge ton as every part has to hold its own.
If you haven't sung in a chamber group before, do some give it a try. It's very different from singing in a large choir, and very rewarding.
Feel free to drop me a PM if you're interested.
Thanks!
