Hi all,

If u're looking for a humbucking guitar, which model would u consider?
Given that ur budget is around $1200.

I'm very new, so pls pour in more advices and suggestions.

Thanks in advance...

i think u should give wad u perfer like
-number of frets
-type of body wood
-type of trem
-type of fretboard
stuff like that .

yup, sorry i forgot to list down all these points.

i would like rosewood fretboard with 22 frets.
the rest of it i dun have any preferences yet.
but i would prefer a black body if possible.

the sound is definitely most important but it's subjective to every individual.
so i would like to gather all the recommendations 1st before i could choose.

thanks! :-)

Welcome to SOFT in the dead of the night, or should I say wee of the morning? Hahaha...

A 1.2k budget is really flexible to work with really, but I'm assuming that it includes an amp as well. I see humbucking = rock / metal.

Amp is really the more important factor in electric guitaring, plus you're into that genre, so it'll probably be a Peavey. Look around their range in Swee Lee, see what you like. If you wanna tread into the tube region early though, Epiphone Valve Jr. is a good choice (also in Swee Lee), or the Blackheart (from Yamaha) is also not that bad (but you might wanna mod it in future, but at least there are more dials to work with from the start.)

Depending on what amp you get, having a nice pedal (or not) can get you that distort / drive sound. I recommend Beta Aivin HM-200 or Boss DS-1. (Standard Value / Swee Lee)

For guitar... ponderz... Actually this one HUGE region siaz... Can try out the LTDs at Davis, I feel they're not too shabby. Kirk Hammett's ESP non-signature is a good choice (not sure of the price, anyhow shoot), tried the feel before, quite good. Not for clean sounds, but good under pressure. (meaning drive / distort etc.) If you like solid sounds can go for them Les Pauls too, I believe there is a PRS thats around 1.2k thats quite well reviewed too. If not, a midranged Epiphone Les Paul Standard (or Plus, or Plus Top) also not that bad. Slash Epiphone Signature Les Paul IS THE ONE TO GO!!! I believe its just nice 1.2k at Swee Lee Bras Bersah.

Oh well, not sure if that helped. Good luck in your search~! (feeling kind cos I'm bored in the dead of the night...)

humbuckers or single coils :)
if u're into single coils u can try to get a used american standard stratocaster .

Based on price alone, probably an American strat since I'm looking into getting one. Other than that, maybe an RG Prestige.

get my epiphone les paul goldtop :D lol. p90s pickups however. something between the sound of humbuckers and singlecoil.

yes, i'll definitely make a trip down to swee lee. juz wanna find out more before i go down, so i can narrow down my search.

i have all the necessary gears such as pedals and amp. juz wanna get a new guitar coz i kinda bored with my current one. haha... but i have a question here, the PRS models i've seen are all above 3k. u sure i can get one at 1.2k, a brand new one i mean.

for that kinda money; Edwards...

I had 1.3 to spend until I bought my acoustic, now I'm quite broke!

Seriously dude, try looking into the Edwards, I'd get it over an Epi any day, just a preference. Takes an experienced guy like sub to remind us on the good stuff.
