I'm getting myself a lomo camera. Anyone is into Lomography and have any advice and where to get good lomos?
Do chitchat here. :)

Thanks.

I wouldn't buy any of those cameras unless I have millions to spare. I suppose it is a passion for some people (some of my ex-seniors are huge fans of lomo cams), but I think I'll play with Photoshop to get the same effects instead.

Im not sure bout this. Lomo cams has a wide range of posibilities? And its very original.

Do you think so?

There are definitely tons of different kinds of them. But these days, Photoshop can do everything. If you want the grainy feel, shoot in film (still beat digital hands down), and then do whatever you want in Photoshop. There are websites that teach you how to achieve the different lomo effects.

hi there.lomo cams are for those into experimental kinda stuffs.lomos are also like the "in" thing now.kids with dslrs, lomos its all common.you wanna get cheap lomos,(2nd hand) try clubsnap.com.sg its a forum like soft but for cameras.i personally think getting 2nd hand is better cus buying first hand, the prices sometimes go soaring high.example:the LCA.anyway if you're really into lomo then go ahead.cool analogs bring the good ol days of fil

oo clubsnaps. yeah yeah.
I was thinking of trying my luck at sungei rd. getting those real old kinds.

But holgas seems sleek and nice on the outside.

Photoshops can look a lil fake if my skill is not pro.

Maybe coz i go for the gadget itselfs and trying to look a lil outstanding. hehe. Theres alot of weird2 designs out there.

any recomendations from softies photos lovers?

I wanted to try getting a holga the other time and take random photos. Was sort of a project thing with people from different countries where we take photos with one and post it up on the forum to share.

Anyway, wondering how much one would roughly cost.

I think it's very different to be using photoshop to get certain effects compared to genuinely using a camera to create it.

Yeah agree. Can never get original with photoshops.
:)

Holga mini just costs 20 bucks. Those smallest and cheapest in town

Normal Holga can cost 60 bucks cheapest. Depending on the models and uses. :) really cool

A good place to get one of the lomo cameras first hand is at Objectifs, over at Bugis. The only reason I would use a lomo camera, or any traditional film camera would be for the thrill of not knowing what you're capturing, and just for the non-digital, not-having-any-control kind of fun.

Forget about objectifs. Go to perlyinc.com and get the holga's there. The other kinds of lomo like the action sampler, hmmm, try ebay or kino instead. Objectifs prices are little on the high side.

For LCA's, the originals are just too expensive for what they do.

try Basheer at bras basah :) i bought my fisheye2 over there, and having lots of fun with it haha. have fun with your lomo!

"dont think just shoot!"
