Line In Recording - Digital plus Analog

Hi guys, i'm relatively new to digital effects, I just bought my first one, it's a Korg Toneworks AX3000G. I combined it with a Jekyll and Hyde distortion/overdrive, and an Electro Harmonix Holy Grail Reverb.

The settings used are (on the multieffects) metal distortion and classic chorus and a little delay.

(on the Jekyll and Hyde) just the green overdrive mode, basically a tubescreamer with the drive set to about 4, tone at 8 to 8.5.

(on the Electro Harmonix Holy Grail Reverb) set to hall reverb at slightly over 30%.

Also, this track was recorded with a Fender Telecaster.

The first track is a short jam with these settings, through a firewire recording box and tracked with garage band. No mixing done for the guitar track. Can you guys have a look and tell me what you think of the sound? And how it can be improved. Thanks

The guitar is tracked pretty well. Maybe just a tad too much reverb, can hear the decay of the reverb tail. Still a good job anyway! I like your songs.

What firewire interface are you recording with?

I'm using the presonus inspire 1394. I'm a real idiot when it comes to gear and shit though.

Yeah i never really know when there's enough reverb? haha, how do you actually determine what a good amount of reverb is?

I was also wondering, what kind of analog pedals can you employ to get more bite in your tone? People with great bite but smooth tone include people like frank gambale, andy timmons. I don't really want a sound that's too smooth.

You need a mesa boogie  how bout the BB Preamp?

the Xotic one right? I was thinking about it. Who carries it in singapore? And if I use it together with the tubescreamer will it sound too dirty?
