hey everyone

i'd thought i'd start one of these "learn" threads where we all can share some know-how on guitar. this one's gonna be a collection of licks from all of us here. we all want to learn from each other so this thread should be pretty helpful in some way. i hope you guys can contribute.

when you post your licks in tab form, be sure to include a brief description of it, like what's the scale, mode or an arpeggio, what technqiues must be used, etc etc....

so....ill start first

im not that strong in my knowledge in my music theory and the modes but this one was done when i wanted to get "out of the box" from the C ionian mode. 3-5 were the notes F-G so i thought, hmmm, what comes after that so i just merged it with the A blues pentatonic scale (my favourite since i learned scales). this lick can be played really fast using sweep picking, or economy picking, downstroke.

yups thats mine. please do correct me if im wrong and give comments, and for the other softies as well.

thanks and cheers ;)

heres another one from me..

Code:
-----7-8-10-8-7-------------7-8-10-8-7-----7-8-10-8-7---------------

okay i admit this is actually a simpler version of what paul gilbert played in a video. this is actually a bach piece played on guitar in the key of A. and i use it as a string skipping drill. great with a delay.

cheers and enjoy ;)
