Hey guys i tried a lp in sweelee. sound's not bad. but i dont like the "blockage" of the body at the 17 fret area? its quite hard to access after the 17th fret...

is there any other guitar models with such thick wood and full "chunky" tone or something? sorry im newbie lol.

Hi, you can try the Godin LG HMB if you can find it in Ranking Sports in Bras Basah. Godin guitars have really good worksmanship. I have a LG SP90 and it plays like a dream. (except that now I have a bit of humbucker envy)
How much are you prepared to spend?

My budget is around 500 to 1.2k. Very big range for my budget.

if i get a guitar which is 500 maybe i can upgrade the pickups or something...

My guitar listed for 1080. Bought at 900, but I went with my teacher who knows the shop owner.

So Godin's "comparable" with lespaul's tone when a humbucker is fitted in? Thick round tone.

You can also try a Yamaha AES620...got mine for $780 in a sale...now retailing for $900++ i think...Has a SD JB humbucker in its bridge and a yamaha alnico in the neck...Tone is very full and round...Growls like an angelic beast.....but it does have the "the "blockage of the body at the 17 fret area" u talked about.....But i fell in love with it when i first try it and bought it on the spot...hahaha.. :D

+10....very nice guitar , reminds me of tremontis , only disadvantage is the finished neck.

Well newbie i don have any recording gear so i cant help u on that one...sorry dude...but u can try it out at yamaha plaza sing...I totally love the sustain on this baby...

only disadvantage is the finished neck

Quite true hofner...the finished neck is bit of a hassle esp after some playin its get abit"sticky" and difficult to slide around the neck...but the fret board is quite smooth though...

The yamaha is a good guitar as well. I suggest you check both out. Try before you buy, don't buy on impulse..

10 years down the road i might either get an AES or gibson explorer.
