Learning Violin?

Hmm not too sure if I have posted at the right section.

Hello fellow softies. I have a sudden urge of wanting to learn a new instrument. Thought of picking up violin.

I'm sure that YouTube is a great way to start.

Just thinking what are the stuff I have to consider. I'm totally clueless on this particular instrument.

Is there any where I could rent a violin? I'm afraid that I might end up giving up on it and end up having the violin as a display in my room.

Hmm this post seems like a endless rant. Anyway I'm just asking for some opinion before I go ahead and purchase a cheap violin.

Whatever you do, go and google around/get recommendations on violin teachers first before just giving money to them in a lump sum etc.
