Learning songs

Electric guitar btw. I can teach myself the basic chords, and some theory, but I want to learn songs by people like Chuck Berry, and it's difficult to learn from tabs.

Do you think I should get a teacher/tutor?

Are you a beginner? A teacher is good for helping develop a strong foundation but in the long run, it's always a good idea to learn by ear.
